Ikaria does have an airport but the most common route is flight to Samos and then ferry to Ikaria.

You can travel to Ikaria by two main routes:

flying to Athens and then a direct flight to Ikaria 

flying to Samos and then via ferry to Ikaria. 

Ikaria has two main ports ; Agios Kirikos and Evdilos (which is close to Pigi). Ferry tickets can be purchased locally on Samos and ferries depart from either Vathi (Samos Town) or Karlovassi. Or view the high speed link:

Good news - you can now fly by Viking airways direct to Samos from Gatwick!  Bookings can be made via Kiss Flights who act as agents.

Although the UK XL has ceased trading but XL France are still operating and flights can be booked to Samos via France.
